At ChicExecs, we are very thankful to partner with talented and passionate entrepreneurs! We look forward to traveling alongside of them to “change the game” and make a difference in 2015! Each week we will introduce you to a game changing client and share a bit about their brand’s story: how they got started, what inspires them, and how they make a difference.
Today we’d like to introduce you to our first Game Changer of the Week, our Client, Elephants on the Wall.
Elephants on the Wall provides paint-by-number wall murals that you simply tape, trace and paint. It is a do-it-yourself project to be proud of.
Southern California award-winning designer and creator of Elephants on the Wall, Patti Newton, is more than an entrepreneur. She is the keeper of whimsy and delight for children’s wall murals. Since 2005, Patti’s murals have given youngsters something to dream about when they shut their bedroom doors and watch their personal space come alive. As a former designer for Walt Disney Imagineering, she designed themed signage and graphics, seen all around the world.
How did her idea come about? During a visit with her twin grandchildren in Hawaii, she was asked to work on an unfinished paint-by-number wall mural in the children’s room. Once she started painting the mural, she began modifying the characters more and more for more accuracy and cuteness. After she finished her masterpiece with much improved characters, her son, Scott, asked, “Why don’t you do this?â€Â It didn’t take long for Patti to realize there was a need for her skills and that she was good at envisioning what parents and children really want in a wall mural. So, six months later, Elephants on the Wall was born.
Patti loves the difference that her work allows her to make in the loves of others.
“I love designing. That is definitely my happy place, but I also want to make a difference in the world too. When I came across the idea of designing Paint-by-Number wall murals †I was in heaven! The medium fit my design style perfectly. I knew I had to do it. But even after designing, producing and selling tons of murals, with lots of very happy customers, I just wasn’t sure I was making a big enough difference. Then I came across this quote: “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.†– Mother Teresa
Now I know I have been making a BIG difference all along and all around the world! And I am reminded of it every time a customer sends in a testimonial telling us how their little one now likes going to bed because he loves his room so much, or how he loves to talk to the animals and has given names to them. Or when a customer is SO happy because they aren’t artistic, but they did such a great job on the mural that their friends think she had a professional paint the mural!”
Eager to bring some joy and happiness to the lives of children, Elephants On The Wall has donated paint-by-number wall murals to Arcadia Methodist Hospital’s Pediatric Unit, LA County USC Medical Center, Five Acres: a child and family services agency, and to an orphanage in Haiti.
