Our latest PR feature is for our client Friendly Fables/Lexy the RAP DAD on the Cleveland lifestyle show Cribbs in the CLE! Lexy shared his story with Josh and Maria and performed a brief rap from one of his books.
Lexy the RAP DAD, also known by his pen name as Alexis Alexander, is a children’s author from Ajax, Ontario, who left the corporate world when his infant son required surgery to write and self-publish the Friendly Fables book series. His Friendly Fables YouTube Channel has taken off racking up half a million views. He is making a name for himself by combining rapping with storytime and it’s fun for the whole family.
The collection of 14 “Rap-A-Long” stories and songs have catapulted him to success. His debut kids rap album based on his books hit #1 on the iTunes children’s music chart in Canada.
When his infant son had surgery at The Hospital For Sick Children in Toronto, he was inspired to create the book series to entertain his own family and found his calling in performing the stories for others. Fast forward to today and Lexy is generating buzz among kids and parents for his wildly popular Rap-A-Long books, songs, and videos. Lexy gives back to the Toronto hospital by donating 100 percent of proceeds from his book Heroic Hospital Quest. He also regularly performs his sing-alongs at Sick Kids and Grandview Children’s Centre.
Regardless of kids growing up in a digital world, storytelling is key to a child’s growth and development. Reading books together never goes out of style. For Lexy the RAP DAD, his stories are based on his family’s adventures and encourage family time.
