Coalatree is the eco-minded company of apparel and goods. From versatile sweats made from coffee grounds, to t-shirts made from recycled materials and windbreakers made with revolutionary self-healing technology, it continues to innovate products for your greatest adventures.
Coalatree is one online company selling face masks for your outside-the-home protection. The CDC now recommends that non-healthcare workers wear fabric face coverings when they go out in public. These coverings may include cloth masks or scarves. If DIYing your own sounds daunting, Coalatree is a perfect choice for $10.00.
The brand is partnering with BlackSmith USA, a local cut and sew factory in Coalatree’s home state, Utah. Masks are made in the brand’s hometown of Salt Lake City and are made of up-cycled Coalatree materials. For every face covering purchased, one will be given to a community member in need of PPE (personal protective equipment). One hundred masks have also been donated to a Native American organization assisting local tribes.
They’re are made out of 100 percent organic cotton while the self-tie straps are made with two percent spandex for comfort. Wash your mask after each use. Do not touch your face while wearing it. Wash your hands before and after using your mask. Machine wash hot, dry on high heat. If you are only able to wash by hand, do so with hot water and lather with soap for 20 seconds.
Coalatree gives several tips on how to wear this face covering as well. Your mask should fit snuggly, but comfortably against your face. Make sure your ear loops are secure. You mask should allow for breathing without restriction. If worn for long periods of time, replace and/or wash your mask every 2 hours.
