Caribu is excited to announce that the first female coach of the NFL, Dr. Jen Welter, has teamed up with the interactive video-calling app to launch the Critter Fitter Series of children’s books on its platform to help explain complex topics like social distancing while encouraging physical, social, and emotional wellness. Join Dr. Jen in her Critter Fitter world as she also launches a series of Read-Aloud videos exclusively on the Caribu platform. Kids can watch on their own when they can’t get on a Caribu call with a trusted adult or when parents need a break.
Welter talked to the 3rd hour of Today’s Sheinelle Jones about the children’s books she wrote to help kids understand social distancing. She holds a Doctorate in Psychology and a Master’s in Sport Psychology, has a 14-year career in women’s professional football, is the first female coach of the NFL and on Madden, and director of Grrridiron Girls Football Camp. She teamed up with globally renowned, award-winning creative talent Brooke Foley, founder of Jayne Agency, to help research and then bring the Critter Fitter solution to life.
“There are a lot of emotions swirling around right now and kids are very adept at picking up on them,” explained Caribu CEO and Co-Founder Max Tuchman. “Welter has used her background in psychology and her work coaching kids in sports to create fun and relatable characters with real solutions for dealing with these emotions. Parents have been begging for more relevant content to be able to explain this new COVID-19 world to kids in a way they can understand.”
Check out Caribu for the interactive video-calling app that has made its service available for free to keep kids better connected to their distant family members. Now it’s adding additional resources, like Welter’s Critter Fitter Series, to help kids navigate the changes to their world.
